Jonathan Bertram — Major Advisor 2019 – 2022, Graduate Degree Program in Ecology (GDPE), CSU, M.S.
Currently Data Management Research Associate, BROADN Project
Jonathan holds a Master’s degree in Ecology, with a certificate in regression modeling from Colorado State University. Jonathan’s thesis, “Effects of Drought Stress on Early White Pine Blister Rust Development in Limber Pine,” examined how climate-driven drought interacts with fungal pathogens in the host-pathogen-environment disease triangle. Using a greenhouse drought × pathogen experiment with Pinus flexilis seedlings inoculated with Cronartium ribicola basidiospores, the study measured host physiology and pathogen performance — including relative rust DNA quantification and disease severity ratings — across well-watered, mild chronic drought, and severe acute drought treatments.
