David’s thesis, “Characterizing the Pine Wilt Disease Pathosystem in the Front Range Region of Colorado,” was submitted spring 2020 under advisor Dr. Seth Davis and co-advisor Dr. Jane Stewart. His research surveyed the invasive pinewood nematode and its insect vectors across the Front Range, characterizing infection rates, vector flight phenology, and landscape factors driving disease spread — providing tools for predicting exposure windows and managing pine wilt disease.
