Daniel is an Associate Professor in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics (DARE) at Colorado State University (CSU). He holds research, teaching, outreach/extension, and service appointments, emphasizing agricultural production systems, food and agricultural value chains, and business management.
His research and extension/outreach program focuses on topics related to crop and livestock production systems, agricultural resource sustainability, technology adoption and impact evaluation, and farm and ranch business management. Daniel currently teaches Agricultural and Resource Enterprise Analysis (AREC 305) for undergraduates and Agricultural Production and Cost Analysis (AREC 605) and Analyzing and Managing the Business (AGRI 636) for graduate students.
Before joining CSU, he earned degrees from the University of Wisconsin (PhD; BS) and Michigan State University (MS). He also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Panama and worked and studied in several other locations including Ecuador, Trinidad and Tobago, and Tennessee.
