Hufbauer Lab

The Hufbauer Lab focuses on applied evolutionary ecology to understand issues in biological invasion and conservation, and to improve the outcomes of biological control, reducing the needs for herbicides and pesticides. We use Tribolium (flour beetles) as a model system to address fundamental questions in evolution and ecology, as well as working on invasive plants, insect pests, biological control agents, and pollinators. This work is done in collaboration with a number of outstanding collaborators and scientists from around the world.

Research in the Hufbauer lab

We work on:
• Biological invasions
• Biological control of weeds
• Eco-evo-eco dynamics
• Evolutionary rescue
• Evolutionary ecology of range expansions
• Tarantula ecology
• Pollinator ecology
.... and more!
