This applied research is focused on improving animal welfare by evaluating practical pain mitigation strategies for routine management procedures. These projects assess the effectiveness of analgesics, anesthetic techniques, and handling protocols on reducing pain, stress responses, and impacts on growth and health. The goal of this work is to generate science-based recommendations that are feasible for producers and support welfare-conscious livestock management.
