Ryne grew up in Lubbock, Texas before attending CSU where he received his BS in Animal Science in 2024. As an undergraduate Ryne was involved in both the animal stress physiology and nutrition research groups, where he led the care and maintenance of our fistulated steer herd. He also participated in multiple clubs and competed on the 2023 Academic Quadrathlon team. In his final semester as an undergraduate he was admitted to the MS/DVM program where he began a project aimed at pain mitigation strategies for tail docking. He is also currently working on a project investigating potential developmental origins of pulmonary hypertension in beef cattle. Ryne is currently in his first year of the CSU Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program and plans to defend his master’s thesis in Spring of 2026.
