Animal Molecular Genetics Laboratory

Our research primarily focuses on better understanding the factors and mechanisms involved in homeostasis and how these factors contribute to the normal function and pathology of physiological systems.

Research Content

Our lab concentrates on the following topics:

1) gene expression profiling in the gastrointestinal tissues of the host animal to describe the interactions between host physiology and the resident microbiome,

2) the identification of de novo mutations and germ cell mosaicism,

3) the molecular genetics of pulmonary hypertension and high mountain disease in beef cattle, and collaborate on the investigation of differential gene expression in mammalian reproduction.
