Organic foods continue to be one of the fastest growing sectors of U.S. food sales at the same time that interest has increased in quantifying the relative sustainability of production systems and food supply chains. Organic production practices are not always accurately evaluated within these supply rating systems.

We are collaborating with the COMET-Farm team at CSU, the Sustainable Food Lab, and the Cool Farm Tool to empower organic producers and buyers to evaluate the relative effects of different management practices on greenhouse gas emissions and other ecosystem services. We are improving these established decision support tools to include realistic organic management scenarios.
