In his dissertation, Jacob explored post-fire changes in soil organic matter composition and dissolved organic matter composition using high-resolution mass spectrometry and various incubation techniques.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/labs.agsci.colostate.edu\/borch\/people\/jacob-vanderroest\/\">Read more about his work (and see his recent publications) here<\/a>. Jacob will continue studying in the Borch lab for a few more months, then he is off to begin work as a post-doctoral researcher in Dr. Scott Fendorf\u2019s lab at Stanford University.
